System Integration - Analysis and development of the architecture of the on-line information flow interchange via PI-XI via SOAP/HL7 between the core system SAP IS-H and the departmental systems. The event-driven hi-reliability connection of the hospital master data (hospitalization, admission, discharge, transfer, etc.) from the IS-H system is triggered by dynamic events, managed by handling engines, specifically developed to satisfy the high performances and reliability required by a hospital environment. The PI-XI system sends data packets via HL7 through specific mapping.
SAP NetWeaver Portal – Analysis and development of a Portal as an operative Workplace for the end user. SAP NetWeaver Portal has been used as an integration and synchronization node with Single Sign On between the SAP Clinical Work Station and non-SAP applications.
Data Migration - Analysis and development of structures and data migration programs. The migration schedule plan and the data volumes have required the development of high performance and high reliability programs, in order to guarantee the data consistency.
Gap Change - Analysis and development of specific enhancements on the IS-H system for master data handling and the merge of invoice/accounting data to the SAP R/3 SD, FI and CO modules.

The implementation of the SAP IS-H system has required a release upgrade from SAP R/3 4.7 to ECC 6.0. This involved the following activities:
Assessment of the current SAP systems: a complete study of the current systems has been performed, in order to detect the “drivers” for the best evaluation of the needed activities.
Technological infrastructure setup: during this step the hardware infrastructure has been moved from AS/400 to an HP platform.
DB Upgrade and Unicode Conversion: Upgrade of the Oracle database (with upgrade to the latest release) and Unicode Conversion.
Definition of the processes/responsibilities matrix: design of RACI matrix for the definition of the processes currently used and association of the corresponding Key Users.
Scenarios Definition and test plan: test plans definition with reiteration matrix and work progress status.
Check and fix of custom objects.
Integration test.
Activation of the Enhancement Package IS-H.
